If you've used our 9gsm version and thought it was just a little too wild to handle, this one has a tiny bit more stability. Still floats, still breathes, still disappears into the air — just a touch more cooperative on the cutting table.

It's 10gsm — let's be real, it's not built for heavy use. But it's not as fragile as it looks. Nylon has natural give, so it doesn't shatter the moment you pull it. Handle it with a light touch when cutting and sewing. Once it's in place as a veil or overlay, it holds up fine. Won't shrink, won't wrinkle much, comes out of the wash looking the same. Not for daily-wear pieces — this one's for floating, not fighting.

1. 10gsm — how do you even handle something this light?

Gently, but it's not as scary as it sounds. Nylon has more give than polyester at this weight, so it doesn't shatter the moment you touch it. Lay it flat when cutting. Don't yank it through the machine. Use tissue paper under the fabric when sewing — it stabilizes the fabric and tears away clean when you're done. Once you get used to the weight, it handles fine.

2. How is this different from your 9gsm American mesh?

They're very similar — both are nylon, both are ultra-light, both are sheer and floaty. The differences are the width and a tiny bit of stability. This transparent mesh is 73 inches wide, which is wider than our standard 63-inch American mesh. And it has just a touch more body, making it slightly easier to handle without losing that weightless look. If you need the absolute lightest option, go 9gsm. If you want a bit more width and a tiny bit more control, go with this 10gsm.

3. Is this see-through? Do I need a lining under it?

It's transparent — that's the name, and that's the point. At 10gsm, it's extremely sheer. It's made for layering, not for full coverage on its own. Use it as a veil, an overlay, or a delicate wrap. If you're making a garment with this as the main fabric, you'll definitely want something underneath.

4. What's the difference between this and your polyester transparent mesh?

Fiber and feel. Nylon, like this one, is softer and has more natural give — it drapes more fluidly and feels less crisp. Polyester is drier and crispier, with a bit more structure. Both are sheer and lightweight. If you want soft and flowy, go nylon. If you want clean and crisp, go polyester.

5. 73 inches wide — what's the advantage?

More room to work. Standard mesh is usually around 54 to 63 inches. With 73 inches, you can cut larger pieces without piecing — good for wide backdrops, full veils, and oversized draping where you don't want seams interrupting the flow. Saves time, saves fabric, looks cleaner.

6. Is this fabric suitable for medical or healthcare applications?
