17gsm nylon high-density American mesh. Stupid light — you pick it up and barely feel a thing. But the high-density weave gives it a bit more body than our standard American mesh. Not stiff, still soft and sheer, but less floaty. It drapes nicely without flying away from you. 160cm wide. If you've used our standard American mesh and found it a bit too wild to handle, this one's more cooperative. Same airy look, more control.

It's 17gsm — not denim, let's be real. But the high-density weave gives it better tear resistance than standard mesh at the same weight. Nylon has natural give, so it doesn't shatter the moment you pull it. Handle it with a light touch when cutting and sewing. Once it's in place as a veil or overlay, it holds up fine. The nylon fibers resist wrinkles and won't shrink in the wash. Not built for heavy-duty use, but for bridal and delicate layers, it's reliable.

1. What does "high-density" mean here?

Tighter weave. More threads per inch than standard American mesh. The result: finer texture, better durability, less see-through at the same weight. It still looks and feels like American mesh — sheer, lightweight, soft — but it handles better and lasts longer. Less slipping around on your cutting table.

2. How is this different from your standard American mesh?

Two things: tighter weave and easier handling. The standard version is more open and airy — great for puffy layers and dramatic volume, but it can slide around when you're trying to cut or sew it. This high-density version is finer, smoother, and more stable — better for veils and overlays that need a cleaner finish and more control during construction.

3. 17gsm — how do you even handle something this light?

Gently, but it's not as tricky as the super-light versions. The high-density weave gives it a bit more grip and stability. Lay it flat when cutting. Don't yank it through the machine. Use tissue paper under the fabric when sewing — it stabilizes the fabric through the feed dogs and tears away clean when you're done. Once you get used to the weight, it handles fine. Less panic than 9gsm.

4. Is this the same as your polyester high-density American mesh, just in nylon?

Same idea, different fiber. Nylon is softer and has a natural sheen — it drapes more fluidly. Polyester is drier and crispier, with a more matte finish. Both are high-density weaves. If you want soft and flowy with a bit of glow, go nylon. If you want clean, crisp, and matte, go polyester. Different tools for different looks.

5. Is this see-through? Do I need a lining?

It's sheer — that's what American mesh is for. The high-density weave gives it a touch more coverage than standard versions, but it's still meant for layering, not full opacity. Use it as a veil, an overlay, or a delicate wrap. If you're making a garment with this as the main fabric, you'll want something underneath.

6. Can I use this for outdoor events? Will the wind be a problem?

It handles light breezes better than standard American mesh because the tighter weave gives it a bit more weight and stability. It still billows beautifully — that's the look — but it's less likely to catch and tear on something. For outdoor ceremonies with mild weather, it's fine. For heavy wind, go with something heavier.

7. Is this fabric suitable for medical or healthcare applications?
