Transparent gauze drying technique
Transparent mesh fabric will quickly turn yellow and lose its luster when exposed to sunlight, and hanging dripping water will cause the fabric to stretch and deform due to gravity. The key to proper drying is to lay it flat, dry it in the shade, and set it gently:
Headcloth/lightweight mesh: Spread flat on a clean, burr free clothesline/pure cotton bed sheet, place in a ventilated and cool place to dry naturally in the shade, avoid placing near air conditioning or heating (hot air can make the fabric dry and hard);
Wedding dress hem: Hang the wedding dress on a wide shoulder seamless hanger (wrapped in a layer of pure cotton cloth to prevent snagging), gently fix the hem on the clothesline with a clothesline to reduce gravity stretching, and place it in a ventilated and shaded area. After there is no water on the surface, lay it flat and continue drying in the shade;
Shaping: Gently tug on the folds of the mesh when it is semi dry to restore its original shape and avoid the formation of stubborn creases after drying.
How to store wedding dress transparent netting
Basic storage preparation
Hanger: Use a wide shouldered, seamless pure cotton cloth hanger (avoid using thin wire hangers as they may cause snagging and creasing);
Dust bag: Choose breathable pure cotton/non-woven dust bags (avoid using plastic bags, as lack of breathability can cause mold and yellowing);
Storage environment: put it in a cool and dry wardrobe, away from direct sunlight, heating and air conditioning outlets, and avoid putting it together with camphor pills, perfume and other objects with pungent smell (which will cause yellowing of yarn and absorb odor).
Short term storage (1-3 months)
Hang the thoroughly dried wedding dress on a cloth hanger, organize the mesh of the skirt and collar to avoid wrinkles;
Put on a breathable and dust-proof bag, hang it on the middle layer of the wardrobe, do not squeeze it, and do not place sharp objects (such as zippers or metal jewelry) around it;
Headcloth: Spread flat in a clean cotton cloth bag and place it inside the wedding dust bag to avoid hanging or pulling.
Long term storage (collection/wedding anniversary)
Forming treatment: First, iron the mesh to form it (see method below), ensuring that there are no wrinkles;
Wedding dress: Wrap the mesh part of the wedding dress, especially the collar and skirt, with acid free paper (museum grade collection paper to prevent yellowing), and then hang it in a dust bag;
Head veil: Gently roll the head veil into a cylindrical shape (do not fold, avoid creases), wrap it with acid free paper, and place it in a dedicated storage box. Put 1-2 packs of desiccant inside the box (to prevent mold growth);
Regular inspection: Open the dust bag/storage box every 3-6 months, ventilate for half an hour, check if the mesh is yellowed, moldy, or tangled, and if the desiccant is ineffective.
