No. The metallic yarn is woven into the fabric, not coated on top. It won't shed glitter, won't rub off onto your hands or other fabrics, and won't fade in the wash. The sparkle is part of the fiber itself — it stays.

2. How is this different from your other sparkle meshes?

This one has a dandelion-like texture on the surface — soft, slightly raised, not flat or slick like our standard metallic meshes. At 22gsm, it's also lighter and sheerer than our 28gsm reinforced sparkle mesh. If you want more structure and durability, go with the 28gsm. If you want something lighter, softer, with a more delicate sparkle, this is it.

3. What's the "dandelion"texture? Is it printed on?

Not printed. It's in the weave. The mesh structure creates a soft, slightly textured surface that looks and feels a bit like dandelion fluff — subtle, not obvious. It gives the fabric more visual depth than a plain flat sparkle mesh. From a distance it reads as a soft shimmer. Up close, you notice the texture.

4. 22gsm — how do you handle something this light?

Gently, but it's not as scary as it sounds. Polyester at this weight has enough give that it doesn't shatter the moment you touch it. Lay it flat when cutting. Don't yank it through the machine. Use tissue paper under the fabric when sewing — it stabilizes the fabric and tears away clean when you're done. Once you get used to the weight, it handles fine.
