1. Is the silver thread going to rub off or fade?
No. The silver thread is woven in, not a coating on top. It won't shed, won't transfer to your hands or other fabrics, and won't wash out. The shimmer stays.
2. How is this different from your 36gsm silver thread base fabric?
Two grams heavier. That's the main difference. At 38gsm, it has a touch more body and is slightly less sheer. The silver thread effect is similar — clean, cool-toned shimmer — but this version feels a bit more substantial in your hand. If you found the 36gsm a little too light, try this one.
3. 38gsm — how do you handle it?
Gently, but it's not fragile. Nylon has more give than polyester, so it doesn't tear the moment you pull it. Lay it flat when cutting. Don't yank it through the machine. Once you get used to the weight, it handles fine. Think of it like tissue paper — light touch, clean results.
4. Is this four-way stretch? Can I use it for fitted pieces?
No stretch. This is a rigid mesh with no elastane. It's made for draping, layering, and structured pieces — not for anything that needs to hug the body or stretch with movement. If you need stretch, we have elastane-blend options in our swimwear and activewear ranges.
5. Is this fabric suitable for medical or healthcare applications?
No. Our fabrics are designed and produced for apparel, bridal, event decor, and craft uses. We do not currently manufacture or supply fabrics for medical, filtration, or industrial applications. If you need medical-grade textiles, we recommend consulting a specialist supplier.
