Weight and structure. The 22gsm dandelion mesh is lighter, sheerer, and has a soft dandelion-like surface texture. This 28gsm reinforced sparkle mesh is heavier, more durable, and has a tighter, more structured weave. If you want the lightest, most delicate sparkle, go 22gsm. If you want sparkle with more body and better tear resistance, go 28gsm.

2. Is the sparkle going to rub off or wash out?

No. The metallic yarn is woven into the fabric, not a coating on the surface. It won't shed glitter, won't transfer to your hands or other fabrics, and won't fade in the wash. The sparkle stays.

3. 28gsm — how do you handle it compared to lighter sparkle meshes?

Easier, actually. The extra weight and the reinforced weave give it more stability on the cutting table — less slipping, less sliding, less fighting. Lay it flat when cutting. Don't yank it through the machine. Use tissue paper under the fabric when sewing if you're working with delicate seams. But overall, it's more cooperative than the ultralight sparkle options.

4. Is this four-way stretch? Can I use it for fitted pieces?

No stretch. This is a rigid mesh with no elastane. It's made for draping, layering, and structured pieces — not for anything that needs to hug the body or stretch with movement. If you need stretch, we have elastane-blend options in our activewear and swimwear ranges.

5. What's the difference between "sparkle" and "metallic thread" in your range?

Sparkle mesh has a fine, even shimmer distributed across the whole fabric — the sparkle is in the yarn itself. Metallic thread mesh has actual silver or gold threads woven into the weave, giving a more directional, pinpoint shimmer. Sparkle is subtle and all-over. Metallic thread catches the light at specific angles.
