It's 15gsm — let's be real, it's not built for heavy abrasion. But it's way tougher than it looks. 30D high-tenacity polyester holds its shape, resists wrinkles, and won't shrink in the wash. Handle it gently when cutting, don't yank it through the machine, and it sews like a dream. Once it's in place as a lining or embroidery backing, it lasts for years. This one's for working hard, not fighting.

1. 15gsm — is that actually 15gsm? No fake weights?

Absolutely no fake weights. We test 3 spots on every single roll with a digital scale before it leaves the factory. Tolerance is ±0.5gsm, max. If you get a roll that's off, we'll replace it for free and cover all shipping. No games, no fine print.

2. How is this different from your 18gsm polyester base fabric?

Weight and cost. This 15gsm is 16.7% lighter, which cuts your international shipping costs by 15-20% per garment. It's also 10% cheaper per meter. The 18gsm has a little more body, but for 90% of lining and embroidery jobs, this 15gsm is perfect and saves you money.

3. 118 inches wide — is that the actual usable width?

Yes. Full 118 inches usable width, no narrow selvedges eating into your fabric. That's almost 3 meters. Cut a full wedding dress skirt in one piece. Cut a full curtain panel in one piece. No splicing, no waste, no extra labor. It's a game-changer.

4. Does it have enough body for embroidery? Will it pull?

That's exactly what it's made for. We tweaked the weave specifically to give it just enough stiffness to hold embroidery stitches flat, without being too stiff to drape. No pulling, no puckering, no crooked stitches. Most of our embroidery factory customers switched to this exclusively 2 years ago.

5. Is it see-through? Will it show the color underneath?

Sheer, but not see-through. Perfect balance. It won't show dark colors through light garments, and it won't make white embroidery look gray. If you need something completely opaque, this isn't it. But for 99% of lining and backing uses, it's exactly the right level of transparency.

6. Can I wash it? Will it shrink or fade?

Machine washable, dry cleanable, whatever you need. Pre-shrunk during production, shrinkage <1% — basically unnoticeable. Color fastness grade 4+, so it won't bleed onto your main fabric. No weird smells, no chemicals, meets OEKO-TEX Standard 100.

7. How do I handle something this light when sewing?

It's easier than you think. Lay it flat when cutting, use a sharp fine needle, and go slow at first. Don't pull it through the machine. Once you get the hang of it, it sews faster than heavier fabrics. Think tissue paper but way stronger — light touch, perfect results.

8. Is this fabric suitable for medical or filtration use?
