How does it feel?

145gsm polyester spandex high-compression mesh. 39% elastane — you feel the power the moment you pull it. This isn't the gentle stretch of everyday activewear. This is a firm, locked-in compression that snaps back with real authority. The mesh is dense and substantial, with a structured hand feel that holds and sculpts. 135cm wide, 5 yards per kilo. If you've used our standard spandex meshes with 10-20% elastane and found them too relaxed, this is the step up — maximum hold, maximum recovery. Tight enough to shape, strong enough to last.

Is it tough? Does it last?

39% spandex with a polyester base means extreme stretch with extreme recovery. It won't bag out after a few wears. Won't sag. Won't lose its snap. Polyester holds its shape, resists wrinkles, and won't shrink in the wash. The dense mesh structure adds durability — better resistance to tearing and snagging than lighter meshes. For shapewear, compression garments, and performance pieces that get worn hard and washed often, it goes the distance. This is the fabric equivalent of a firm handshake — it means business.

What can I make with it?

Premium shapewear and body sculpting garments. High-compression activewear. Sports braces and protective gear. Pressure socks and medical-grade compression hosiery. Professional yoga and Pilates wear. Any garment that needs to hold, shape, and stay in place through intense movement. If you need lighter compression for everyday activewear, we have options with 10-20% spandex. If you need the strongest possible hold, this 39% is the top of the range. Tight enough to sculpt, comfortable enough to wear all day.

FAQ

1. 39% spandex — is this the highest stretch fabric you carry?

It's right at the top. We have options ranging from 6% to 40% spandex. 39% is one of the highest in the collection. This level of elastane delivers extreme compression and powerful recovery — it's built for garments that need to hold, shape, and stay in place under pressure. If you need maximum hold, this is it.

2. With this much spandex, will it bag out or lose its shape?

No. The polyester-spandex blend is engineered so that the high elastane content works with the dense mesh structure to deliver extreme stretch without losing recovery. It's not the kind of fabric that goes limp after a few wears. Normal wear, normal washing, and the compression stays locked in.

3. Is this see-through? Do I need a lining?

At 145gsm with a dense mesh structure, it gives solid coverage. For most shapewear and activewear, it's fine on its own. The density of the fabric helps with coverage even when stretched. If you're making something in a very light color and want extra security, a lining is always a good backup. But for darker colors, it covers well without needing anything underneath.

4. 135cm wide — is that narrower than your other fabrics?

Yes, 135cm is narrower than our standard 150-160cm fabrics. This is specific to the 30280 construction. For most compression garments and shapewear, the width is workable — you'll just want to plan your cutting layout accordingly. The high spandex content also means the fabric can be stretched during cutting to optimize usage.

5. How does this compare to your other spandex meshes?

The 39% elastane content sets this apart. Most of our other spandex meshes have 6-24% spandex for varying levels of stretch. This one is the extreme end — maximum compression, maximum recovery. If the others are like a firm hug, this one is like a grip. Use it for garments that need serious hold.

6. Can I use this for swimwear?

It has stretch and a dense structure, but it's not specifically designed for prolonged chlorine or saltwater exposure like our dedicated swimwear fabrics. For occasional water use, it'll hold up. For competitive or frequent pool use, we recommend our swimwear-specific options, which have chlorine resistance built in.

7. Is this suitable for medical compression garments?

It has the compression level that medical-grade garments require, but we do not currently manufacture or supply fabrics specifically for medical applications. If you're developing medical compression products and need specific certifications or testing data, contact us to discuss your requirements.

8. Is this fabric suitable for medical or healthcare applications?

No. Our fabrics are designed and produced for activewear, shapewear, sportswear, and related uses. We do not currently manufacture or supply fabrics for medical, filtration, or industrial applications. If you need medical-grade textiles, we recommend consulting a specialist supplier.
