How does it feel?

95gsm nylon spandex bright stretch mesh. 4540 open knit with a visible luster finish. It's light — one of the lighter stretch meshes we carry. The bright nylon yarn gives the surface a subtle gleam that catches light differently than standard matte mesh. It's not shiny like satin, more like a soft glow across the fabric. The hand feel is smooth and soft from the nylon, with a dry, clean finish. The 6% spandex gives it a gentle stretch — not as firm as the 20% spandex meshes, but enough for comfort and light recovery. It drapes easily and moves freely.

Is it tough? Does it last?

At 95gsm, it's light so you treat it accordingly. Nylon gives it good tear strength for its weight. The bright finish stays consistent through washing — won't dull or turn cloudy. The 6% spandex provides enough recovery for apparel use, but it won't snap back as hard as higher spandex fabrics. Shrinkage is low under 3%. It's designed for lightweight panels, linings, and decorative layers — not for high-stress or heavy-wear applications. For what it does, it does it well.

What can I make with it?

Dancewear — leotards, bodysuits, costume overlays. The luster finish catches stage light. The stretch and lightweight feel work well for dancers.

Activewear panels — breathable inserts in sports bras, tank tops, and training shorts where you want a touch of sheen.

Costume and performance wear — stage costumes, cheerleading uniforms, and competition wear where visual effect matters.

Apparel lining — breathable decorative lining for sheer overlays, jackets, and skirts.

Lingerie and sleepwear — soft stretch panels with a subtle luster finish.

Fashion tops — sheer overlay panels on clubwear, festival wear, and evening pieces.

FAQ

1. What does "bright" mean in this fabric?

The "bright" finish comes from the nylon yarn itself. We use a filament with a round cross-section, so it reflects more light than standard matte or semi-dull yarns. You get a fabric with a soft, natural sheen — not metallic, not flashy. Just a visible glow that looks clean and polished. The luster is built into the fiber, not a coating, so it won't wash off or fade over time.

2. Is this see-through?

Yes — it's an open mesh fabric, so it's designed to be transparent. At 95gsm, the knit openings are clearly visible. Use it as a panel, an overlay, or a lined layer. If you need full opacity, this one isn't for you. But if you want something that breathes and lets light through, it fits.

3. How does the stretch compare to higher spandex meshes?

The 6% spandex gives it a light, comfortable stretch — enough for movement and drape, but not for compression or firm support. If you need strong recovery and grip, we have options with 20% spandex or more. If you want a soft, flowing stretch with a gentle give, this one works well.

4. Can I machine wash this?

Yes. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. No bleach. Hang dry or tumble on low. Cool iron if needed. The bright finish holds up through washing — it's in the yarn, not printed on top, so you don't have to worry about it turning dull.
