With 21% spandex, how strong is the stretch? What's it good for?
The stretch is extremely strong — about 2-3x crosswise, snaps right back instantly. 21% spandex is near the top end for stretch mesh. It's made for high-performance compression wear, pro-level yoga gear, shapewear, swimwear lining — anything that needs to hug the body tightly but still feel comfortable, not restrictive.
With that much stretch, won't it lose elasticity over time?
No. 21% spandex gives it huge stretch, but we use a high-recovery grade spandex yarn that holds up through dozens of washes. Not the cheap stuff that goes limp after a month. Use it for compression gear and shapewear — a year later, the snap is still there.
Is 130cm width enough? Will I need to piece fabric together?
130cm is a standard width for stretch fabric. It's enough for compression wear, yoga tops, and shapewear. Stretch fabric stretches during cutting and sewing, so you actually use less material than you'd think. If you're making oversized styles and need wider, custom widths are available.
Can this ultra-stretch mesh handle printing and hot stamping? Will it lose its stretch?
Yes. Digital print, heat transfer, hot stamping — all fine. The setting is stable, so the elasticity stays put after finishing. No curling or warping either. Just one thing: because the stretch is so strong, the finishing parameters might need a slight adjustment. Let me know when you place the order, and I'll confirm the exact specs with the factory to make sure it comes out right.
With such high spandex content, does it smell? Is it safe to wear against the skin?
No smell. It goes through a wash-and-set process before shipping — any residual odor is taken care of. Nylon and spandex are standard textile materials, safe for direct skin contact. If you need it, we can provide OEKO-TEX or other testing reports.
