✦ How does it feel?
Silky Satin Hand
Slick and silky with a clean satin sheen that catches the light — polished without being oily or flashy.
🪡
Mid-Weight Drape
185gsm — heavy enough to drape beautifully, light enough to stay comfortable. 155cm wide.
🤸
Comfortable Stretch
Spandex blend gives a comfortable give that moves with you — not compression-level, just everyday flex.
✦ Is it tough? Does it last?

Holds its shape — polyester with spandex resists wrinkles and won't shrink in the wash.

Permanent satin finish — the sheen is in the weave structure, not a surface coating, so it won't wash out or turn dull over time.

Easy to work with — cuts cleanly, sews without bunching. For dresses, skirts, and linings that get regular wear, it holds up reliably.

✦ What can I make with it?

This fabric is ideal for everyday elegance with a bit of flex. Perfect applications include:

👗 Fit-and-Flare Dresses 👘 Slip Dresses ✂️ Bias-Cut Pieces 👚 Blouses 🩱 Skirts 🧥 Lightweight Jackets 🪞 Smooth Linings 🛋️ Luxurious Loungewear
FAQ
1 What's the difference between this and your nylon smooth-face Migao fabric?
Both have a silky smooth hand, but the key difference is stretch and sheen. This polyester satin-face fabric has spandex, so it stretches and recovers. It also has a brighter satin sheen. The nylon Migao fabric has no stretch and a more subtle, natural nylon glow. If you need flex and a polished finish, go with this. If you want pure drape and a softer sheen, go with the Migao.
2 How strong is the stretch? Is it like your swimwear fabric?
Not the same level. Our swimwear fabrics are built for high compression and intense chlorine exposure, with strong four-way stretch. This satin-face fabric has a comfortable, everyday stretch — enough to move with the body and recover, but not the tight compression of a performance swim knit. Think of it as a dress fabric with flex, not a sports fabric.
3 Is the satin finish going to wash out or go dull?
No. The satin finish comes from the weave structure — it's how the yarns are arranged, not a coating on top. It stays silky and bright through washing and wearing. Polyester also resists fading, so the color stays true.
4 Is this see-through? Do I need a lining?
At 185gsm, it gives solid coverage. For most dresses, blouses, and skirts, it's fine on its own. If you're making something in white or a very light color, a lining is a good backup for extra security. But for the vast majority of applications, it's opaque enough without one.
5 Can this be used for activewear or swimwear?
It has stretch, but it's not built for the water or high-intensity activity. No chlorine resistance, and the satin finish isn't designed for constant sweat and friction. If you need swimwear fabric, we have a full range of nylon spandex and polyester spandex options designed specifically for the pool. This one's for dresses, blouses, skirts, linings — pieces that move with you in everyday life, not in the water.
6 Is this fabric suitable for medical or healthcare applications?
No. Our fabrics are designed and produced for apparel, linings, accessories, and loungewear uses. We do not currently manufacture or supply fabrics for medical, filtration, or industrial applications. If you need medical-grade textiles, we recommend consulting a specialist supplier.
