New Fabrics We Just Added — Ultra-Fine Nylon, Diamond Mesh, and a Textured Polyester Worth a Look

2026-07-13

Our sample room has been busy again. Over the past two days, we've added five new fabrics to the collection — a mix of ultra-fine nylon, diamond mesh, and textured polyester. Here's a quick rundown of what's new and what each one is made for.

For the Lightest, Finest Solid Fabric You'll Ever Touch: 10D Nylon Single-Face Plain Weave (18gsm)

This one is a solid plain weave — no holes, no netting — made with 10D ultra-fine nylon yarn. 10D is finer than our 15D or 20D options. The result is a fabric that feels almost like silk — smooth, soft, impossibly light. Single-face construction, one side flat and smooth. 35 yards per kilo, so it's efficient for volume production.

Use it for high-end sun protection clothing, ultralight activewear, luxury garment linings that disappear inside a jacket or dress, and delicate base layers. If you've been looking for a solid fabric that feels like wearing nothing, this is it.

For a Lightweight Diamond Mesh with Structure and Shine: 30D Nylon High-Density Lustrous Diamond Mesh (20gsm)

This one is a contradiction in the best way. At 20gsm, it's barely there — but the high-density diamond weave gives it real backbone. The holes are smaller and tighter than standard diamond mesh, so it feels more refined and handles with more stability. The lustre is in the nylon yarn itself — a clean, natural brightness, not oily or flashy. 31 yards per kilo keeps your material cost low.

Use it for bridal pettiskirts that need lightweight volume, veils with body, gown interlinings that need a structured but invisible base, and children's tutu dresses. If you want a fabric that feels like nothing but holds its shape like something, this is it.

For a Sparkle That Won't Wash Out: 30D Nylon Metallic Diamond Mesh (17gsm)

This is the lighter, sparklier sibling to the 20gsm diamond mesh. At 17gsm, it's one of the lightest diamond meshes we carry. The sparkle is in the yarn itself — woven in, not a coating — so it won't rub off or wash out. The diamond pattern gives it that distinctive geometric texture. 36 yards per kilo means your cost per yard is exceptionally low.

Use it for bridal veils that float on air, gown overlays that catch the light, stage costumes that need to shimmer under lights, and party backdrops. If the 20gsm version feels like more structure than you need, this 17gsm is the lighter, sparklier alternative.

For a Clean, Crisp Sheer with Texture: 20D Polyester Curved Weave Fabric (46gsm)

This is a polyester plain weave with a curved pattern woven into the surface — not printed, not embossed, part of the fabric structure. At 46gsm, it's got more body than our 36gsm version, but still light and breathable. No stretch, drapes nicely. 14 yards per kilo.

Use it for blouses, dresses, skirts, and linings where you want lightweight with a bit of visual character. The curved weave gives it subtle texture without being loud. If you've been using flat polyester broadcloth and wanted something with more personality, this is a quiet upgrade.

For a Structured Mesh That's Light but Not Flimsy: 50D Polyester Double Square Mesh (32gsm)

This is a polyester structured mesh with a double square construction — more stable than standard single-layer square mesh. At 32gsm, it's lighter than our 50gsm and 85gsm square mesh options, but the double-layer structure gives it reliable shape retention. Clean grid pattern, crisp hand. 63 inches wide.

Use it for bridal veils that need structure without weight, fascinator bases, craft flowers, and decorative projects. If you need something heavier for serious structural work, our 50gsm and 85gsm versions are there. If you need something lighter with just enough backbone, this is your middle ground.
