Our sample room has been busy again. Over the past few days, we've added five new fabrics to the collection — a mix of swimwear, mesh, and sparkle options. Here's a quick rundown of what's new and what each one is made for.
For Serious Swimwear That Needs to Last: 4040 Polyester Spandex Matte Swimwear Fabric (200gsm)
This is a polyester spandex Swimwear Fabric with a clean matte finish — no shine, no gloss. At 200gsm, it's solid and substantial without being bulky. Fully opaque, so no lining needed. Polyester handles chlorine better than nylon, so if your customer is a regular lap swimmer or training in a chlorinated pool several times a week, this fabric will hold its colour and structure longer than nylon options. The matte finish keeps things understated — professional, not flashy. Use it for training suits, competitive swimwear, and one-pieces that need to perform.
For a Swimwear Fabric with Design Flexibility: 4030 Nylon Spandex Matte Double-Face Swimwear Fabric (190gsm)
This one is nylon spandex with a matte finish, but the standout feature is the double-face construction — both sides are clean and finished, so you can use either side as the face. Designers like this because it gives them more options: use one side for the main body and the other for contrast panels or binding. At 190gsm, it's fully opaque with strong four-way stretch and good chlorine resistance. Nylon gives it a softer, smoother hand feel than polyester. For a Lightweight Reinforced Mesh That Won't Let You Down: 2530 Nylon Reinforced Mesh (24gsm)
This is one of our lighter reinforced meshes at 24gsm — lighter than the 28gsm high-density version, but still tougher than standard mesh at this weight. The reinforced weave gives it better tear resistance and more stability on the cutting table. Nylon makes it soft and smooth with a subtle natural sheen. Sheer, airy, and light as air. Use it for bridal veils, gown overlays, embroidery backing, and craft projects where you need lightweight with a bit of insurance.
For Sparkle That Won't Wash Out — And a Width That Saves You Time: 20D Nylon Metallic American Mesh (14gsm)
This is one of the lightest sparkle meshes we carry — 14gsm, barely there. The sparkle is in the yarn, not a coating, so it won't wash out or rub off. But the real headline here is the width: 118 inches, nearly double standard mesh. That means cathedral-length veils, full backdrops, and oversized draping can be cut in one piece without piecing. Nylon gives it a soft, drapey hand. If you need something that floats, catches the light, and covers a lot of ground in a single panel, this is it.
For a Clean, Crisp Sheer Layer in Polyester: 20D Polyester High-Density American Mesh (17gsm)
This is the polyester version of our high-density American mesh. At 17gsm, it's still ultra-light and sheer, but the tighter weave gives it more body and control than standard American mesh. Polyester gives it a drier, crispier hand than nylon — clean matte finish, no natural sheen, just understated. It holds a crease better and resists wrinkles. Use it for bridal veils, gown overlays, wraps, and craft projects where you want lightweight with a bit more structure. If you prefer nylon's softer drape, we have that version too. If you want clean, crisp, and matte, this is the one.
