Is it tough? Does it last?

25% elastane puts this near the top end for stretch fabrics. The stretch is seriously strong, and the recovery is rock solid. Normal wear, normal washing — won't sag, won't bag out. Nylon at 75% handles abrasion and washing well, resists pilling and snagging. Use it for high-intensity activewear, compression leggings, sports bras — pieces that get worn hard and washed often. A year later, the snap is still there. Not the kind that quits after one season.

1. With 25% elastane, how strong is the stretch compared to the 10% or 12% versions?

25% is near the top end for stretch fabrics. Pulls over 2x crosswise with ease, snaps back almost instantly. The 10% and 12% versions are solid for daily activewear and base layers. This one is for high-intensity training and professional compression gear — needs to hug the body tightly without feeling restrictive, needs to hold up through countless wears. Stronger stretch, but the recovery is actually more controlled — won't lose its nerve.

2. This is a plain weave, not a mesh, right? How is it different from your stretch mesh?

Right, this is plain weave, not mesh. The surface is smooth, no holes. Stretch mesh has an open structure for breathability and is often used for outer layers and decoration. This one is for next-to-skin pieces — leggings, sports bras, compression wear. The flat surface is more comfortable directly against the body and takes prints more crisply. Plus it's fully opaque, no lining needed.

3. Won't it bag out over time? With 25% elastane, shouldn't it lose elasticity faster?

No. High elastane content doesn't automatically mean it bags out — it depends on the spandex grade and heat setting. We use a high-recovery grade spandex and the setting process is dialed in properly. Normal wear, normal washing, recovery stays solid. Use it for high-intensity activewear and daily leggings, and a year later the snap is still there. Just don't wash it in boiling water and you'll be fine.

4. Can this fabric be printed? Is the flat surface better for printing than mesh?

Yes, and the smooth plain weave surface actually takes prints much better than mesh. Digital printing, heat transfer, hot stamping — all come out crisper and cleaner because there are no holes to break up the design. If you're running printed leggings or branded activewear, this fabric gives you a much sharper result than an open mesh would.

5. What's the difference between this and your swimwear fabrics? Could I use this for swimwear?

Different animals. This is built for activewear — yoga, running, gym, compression. Our swimwear fabrics are specifically engineered for chlorine and saltwater exposure. This one isn't optimized for prolonged pool use. If your customer wants leggings, sports bras, and training gear, use this. If they need swimwear, go with our dedicated swim fabric series.
