Our sample room has been busy again. Over the past few days, we've added several new fabrics to the collection — a mix of swimwear, reinforced mesh, sparkle mesh, and printed fabrics. Here's a quick rundown of what's new and what each one is made for.
The 4030 Nylon Spandex Matte Double-Face Swimwear Fabric (190gsm)is nylon spandex with a matte finish, but the standout feature is the double-face construction — both sides are clean and finished, so you can use either side as the face. Designers like this for contrast panels and binding. At 190gsm, it's fully opaque with strong stretch and good chlorine resistance. Nylon gives it a softer, smoother hand feel than polyester. If you want a Swimwear Fabric that performs and gives you creative flexibility, this is worth a look.
The 2530 Nylon Reinforced Mesh (24gsm) is one of our lighter reinforced meshes — lighter than the 28gsm high-density version, but still tougher than standard mesh at this weight. Nylon makes it soft and smooth with a subtle natural sheen. Sheer, airy, and light as air. Use it for bridal veils, gown overlays, and embroidery backing where you need lightweight with a bit of insurance.
The 20D Nylon Metallic American Mesh (14gsm) is one of the lightest sparkle meshes we carry. The sparkle is in the yarn, not a coating, so it won't wash out or rub off. The real headline is the width: 118 inches, nearly double standard mesh. That means cathedral-length veils, full backdrops, and oversized draping can be cut in one piece without piecing. Nylon gives it a soft, drapey hand.
The 20D Polyester High-Density American Mesh (17gsm) is the polyester version of our high-density American mesh. At 17gsm, it's still ultra-light and sheer, but the tighter weave gives it more body than standard American mesh. Polyester gives it a drier, crispier hand — clean matte finish, no natural sheen. Use it for bridal veils, gown overlays, and wraps where you want lightweight with a bit more structure.
We've also added two printed fabrics this week — a Brushed Floral Print Fabric and a Purple Floral Print Fabric. Both feature soft, wearable floral patterns. The brushed version has a warm, fuzzy hand feel that's cozy against the skin — think of it as the comfort fabric you reach for on a cool evening. The purple floral version has a smooth, substantial hand feel reminiscent of Swimwear Fabric, with a rich purple base and delicate small-flower pattern. Both are built for dresses, blouses, loungewear, and craft projects where you want pattern with personality.
Any of these fabrics can be sent to you as a free A4 swatch — you just cover shipping. If you're not sure which one fits your project, tell us what you're making and we'll recommend the right one.
