Completely different category. Our lightweight meshes run from 9gsm to 50gsm — they're for bridal veils, apparel linings, and delicate overlays. This 140gsm heavy-duty mesh is in another league. Thick yarns, large holes, built for strength and durability rather than drape or softness. If lightweight mesh is tissue paper, this is cardboard — and that's exactly what you want for the job it does.
2. Can this be used outdoors? Will it handle sun and rain?
Yes, it's built for outdoor use. Polyester naturally resists UV degradation and won't rot or mildew like natural fibers. The thick construction and open holes mean water drains straight through — no pooling, no waterlogging. For sports nets left up all season, outdoor storage covers, and garden applications, it's reliable.
3. Is the mesh stiff? Can I fold or shape it?
It's stiff compared to apparel mesh, but it's not rigid like plastic. You can fold it, cut it, tie it, and shape it. It holds its form under tension. The low yield is a sign of density and durability, not inefficiency. If you need lightweight coverage over a large area, this isn't the right fabric. If you need heavy-duty strength over a smaller area, the low yield is worth it.
7. Is this suitable for fishing nets or marine use?
It can be used for some light marine applications — equipment covers, boat storage bags, dock line organization. But it's not specifically designed as a fishing net or for prolonged saltwater submersion. For marine-grade netting, specialized nylon or polyethylene options are more common. This polyester mesh is better suited to sports, industrial, and outdoor equipment applications.
