29gsm polyester plain weave in red. Smooth to the touch — not the limp kind, got a bit of body to it. Light, sheer, breathable. 63 inches wide. The red is a clean, solid red — not orangey, not pinkish. Just a straight red that looks good on its own or layered.
It's polyester — not fussy. Won't shrink, won't wrinkle much, comes out of the wash looking the same. The color holds — doesn't fade to pink after a few washes. For linings and lightweight pieces that get regular wear, it does the job without complaint.
Linings that need a pop of color inside a jacket or dress. Lightweight summer blouses, cover-ups, scarves. Base layers that sit against the skin. If you're doing something where the lining peeks out — a cuff, a collar, a slit — the red adds a nice detail without screaming. Just a clean, straightforward plain weave that breathes and moves with you.
1. Is this the same as your other polyester plain weaves, just in a different color?
Same family, different weights. Not all our polyester plain weaves are identical — different gsm means a different hand feel. Some are lighter and sheerer, some are heavier and crisper. This one is 29gsm — smooth, with a bit of body, not limp. If you've used our other polyester plain weaves, the feel is in the same lane, just on the lighter side. Colors are clean and solid, not muddy or off-tone.
2. Will the color bleed or fade in the wash?
No. Polyester holds dye well, and the colors stay put. First wash, keep it separate from whites just to be safe. After that, it won't bleed onto other fabrics or fade. The color stays clean wash after wash.
3. How sheer is it? Will it show through an outer fabric?
It's sheer — it's 29gsm. If you're lining a white or cream-colored garment, a colored lining will show through as a subtle undertone, which some designers actually want. If you need it completely invisible, go with a nude or white lining. If you want a hint of color peeking through, this weight does that nicely.
4. Will this exact color match across different fabric types if I order multiple styles?
Not necessarily. Different weaves and yarns take dye slightly differently. A plain weave and a mesh in the "same" color might not be 100% identical side by side. If you need an exact match across multiple fabrics for the same project, tell us ahead of time and we'll check the batch for you.
5. Can I use this for anything other than linings?
Yeah. Lightweight blouses, summer scarves, cover-ups. Even craft projects. It's a lightweight breathable fabric that happens to work really well as a lining — not a fabric that can only be a lining. Use it wherever you need something light, smooth, and breathable.
