1. What does "brushed" mean in swimwear fabric?

Brushing is a mechanical finishing process where the fabric surface is gently abraded to raise a fine layer of fibers. The result is a softer, slightly fuzzy surface that feels warmer and more cotton-like against the skin than standard smooth swim fabric. The brushing doesn't affect the stretch, recovery, or chlorine resistance — it just changes the hand feel.

2. Is this fabric chlorine-resistant?

Yes. Polyester spandex is naturally more chlorine-resistant than nylon spandex. This fabric is suitable for regular pool use and will hold up better than nylon swim fabrics over time.

3. How does the 12% spandex feel? Is it compression-level?

It's firm but not compression-grade. 12% spandex with Lycra quality gives good support and shape retention — it holds the body and snaps back. For competition swimwear you'd want 18-20% spandex. For recreational swimwear, beachwear, and activewear, 12% is a comfortable and effective level.

4. Does the brushed finish affect how the fabric dries?

No. The brushing is surface-level — the fabric still dries quickly like standard polyester spandex. It won't hold water the way cotton does.

5. Is this see-through?

At 190gsm in darker colors it's fully opaque. Light colors and whites should be checked against your specific design, but the weight is enough for most swimwear applications without lining.
