160gsm nylon spandex leopard print swimwear fabric. You pick it up and you feel the weight — solid, substantial, not the flimsy stuff. The leopard print has a water-print satin finish — soft sheen, not oily or flashy, looks premium. 89% nylon, 11% spandex — strong four-way stretch that snaps right back without hesitation. 150cm wide. Completely opaque, no lining needed. If you want a swimwear fabric that looks as good as it performs, this is it.
Built for the water. Nylon holds its color, spandex holds its snap. The leopard print is part of the fabric, not a surface coating — it won't wash out, won't fade, won't peel. Handles chlorine, saltwater, sun, and repeated washing without giving up. Won't sag, won't bag. For swimwear that gets worn hard and washed often, it goes the distance.
Bikinis, one-pieces, resort swimwear. Anything that needs to make a statement in and out of the water. The leopard print does the talking — pair it with solid black or neutral trims and let the fabric be the star. If you need solids instead of prints, we have matte and lustrous swimwear options in similar weights.
1. Is the leopard print going to wash out or fade?
No. The print is a water-print process that bonds into the fabric — it's not a cheap surface print that peels or cracks. Handles chlorine and saltwater just fine. The leopard spots stay sharp wash after wash.
2. 160gsm — is this fully opaque? Do I need a lining?
Yes, fully opaque at 160gsm. No lining needed. You can use it for bikinis and one-pieces without worrying about transparency, even in lighter print areas.
3. How's the stretch compared to your other swimwear fabrics?
Strong four-way stretch with 11% spandex — pulls over 2x crosswise and snaps right back. Similar stretch level to our other nylon spandex swimwear fabrics in the 150-200gsm range. Good compression without feeling restrictive.
4. Is this more for fashion swimwear or can it handle serious swimming?
It does both. The 160gsm weight and nylon construction handle chlorine and saltwater well, so it's fine for regular pool and beach use. But the leopard print makes it especially popular for fashion-forward resort pieces and statement swimwear. If you're outfitting a competitive swim team, you might want solids. If you're making swimwear that needs to turn heads, this is it.
5. What trims and findings go best with leopard print?
Black solids are the classic pairing — black binding, black straps, black lining. Neutral tones like beige, tan, and olive also work well and keep the look earthy. If you want bold, a deep red or burnt orange accent can pop against the leopard pattern. Let the print lead.
6. Is this fabric suitable for medical or healthcare applications?
No. Our fabrics are designed and produced for swimwear, apparel, sportswear, and related uses. We do not currently manufacture or supply fabrics for medical, filtration, or industrial applications. If you need medical-grade textiles, we recommend consulting a specialist supplier.
