How does it feel?

100gsm nylon spandex semi-matte mesh. 40% elastane — you feel the stretch the moment you touch it. It doesn't just stretch. It pulls you back. Strong, responsive, snaps into place like it means it. The semi-matte finish keeps it understated — clean, not shiny, not dead flat. 150cm wide, 7 yards per kilo. If you need a fabric that moves with you and holds its shape under pressure, this is it. Not for casual wear — this is serious compression.

Is it tough? Does it last?

40% spandex means extreme stretch with extreme recovery. It won't bag out after a few wears. Won't sag. Won't lose its snap. Nylon handles abrasion well, resists pilling, and holds its color through washing. The semi-matte finish stays semi-matte, wash after wash. For high-intensity activewear, compression pieces, and shapewear that get worn hard and washed often, it goes the distance. This is the fabric equivalent of a firm handshake — it means business.

What can I make with it?

High-compression activewear. Pro-level leggings that don't go see-through. Sports bras that hold everything in place. Shapewear that actually shapes. Base layers for cold-weather training. Any garment that needs to hug the body, move with it, and keep its shape through hundreds of wears and washes. If you need lighter compression, we have options with lower spandex content. If you need extreme compression, this is it.

FAQ

1. 40% spandex — is this the highest stretch fabric you have?

Yes. 40% elastane puts this at the top end of the stretch range. Most of our other spandex fabrics sit between 6% and 24%. This one is built for maximum compression and recovery. If you need firm, responsive stretch that snaps back instantly, this is the one.

2. With this much spandex, will it bag out or lose its shape?

No. The nylon-spandex blend is engineered so that the high elastane content works with the nylon base to deliver extreme stretch without losing recovery. It's not the kind of fabric that goes limp after a few wears. Normal wear, normal washing — the snap stays.

3. Is this fully opaque? Do I need a lining?

Yes, fully opaque at 100gsm. No lining needed. You can use it for leggings, compression tights, and shapewear without worrying about transparency, even in lighter colors. The 40% spandex helps with coverage — the fabric holds its density even when stretched.

4. What's the difference between this and your other nylon spandex meshes?

The 40% spandex content. Most of our other nylon spandex options have 10-24% spandex for varying levels of stretch. This one is the extreme end — maximum compression, maximum recovery. If the others are like a firm hug, this one is like a grip.

5. Is this suitable for swimwear?

It has the stretch and the nylon content, but it's not specifically designed for prolonged chlorine or saltwater exposure like our dedicated swimwear fabrics. For occasional water use, it'll hold up. For competitive or frequent pool use, we recommend our swimwear-specific nylon spandex options.

6. Can I use this for everyday activewear or is it too intense?

It's built for high compression, so it's best for performance pieces where you want that locked-in feel — serious leggings, hardworking sports bras, shapewear that holds. If you're looking for a more relaxed everyday activewear fabric, we have options with 10-15% spandex that will be more comfortable for all-day wear.

7. Is this fabric suitable for medical or healthcare applications?

No. Our fabrics are designed and produced for activewear, sportswear, compression garments, and shapewear uses. We do not currently manufacture or supply fabrics for medical, filtration, or industrial applications. If you need medical-grade textiles, we recommend consulting a specialist supplier.
